Abstract

From root bark of Ormocarpum kirkii a new biflavanone diglucoside, named ormocarpin, was isolated. Its structure and absolute configuration, assigned by chemical and spectroscopic methods, corresponds to 7,7"-β diglucoside of (2S,3R)-chamaejasmin. Three 6-methoxyflavonoid sulphates and one glycoside were isolated from Brickellia longifolia. These include the first report of 6-methoxykaempferol 7,4'-dimethyl ether 3-sulphate and the known compounds: 6-methoxykaempferol 7-methyl ether and quercetagetin 6,7,4'-trimethyl ether 3-sulphate and quercetagetin 6,7-dimethyl ether 3-galactoside.
