Chemotaxonomy of the genus Xanthorrhoea

Abstract

It was found that the composition of the resins produced by members of the genus Xanthorrhoea was sufficiently taxon-specific to allow the setting up of a chemotaxonomic key. A generalized procedure for the isolation of flavanoids from Xanthorrhoea resins is given together with details of all isolated components.
