Three new indole alkaloids, named bruceollines D-F, were isolated from the root wood of Brucea mollis var. tonkinensis. On the basis of spectral and chemical evidence, the structures of bruceollines D-F were elucidated as 8,8-dimethylcyclopenta[b]indole-9-one, 8,8-dimethylcyclopenta[b]indole-9,10-dione, and 3-(2',3'-dihydroxy-3'-methyibutyl)-1N-beta-D-glucopyranosylindole respectively.
