Alkyl derivatives of the tropane alkaloid convolvine (3,4-dimethoxybenzoyloxynortropane) were synthesized via reactions with a series of alkyl halides. The structures of the synthesized compounds were proven using IR and NMR spectroscopy. X-ray crystal structure analyses established the molecular structures of the hydrochlorides of the N-hexyl-, N-octyl-, and N-nonyl-derivatives of convolvine.
