Two new CPA-type indole alkaloids (1 and 2) were isolated from the fungus Aspergillus oryzae. Their structures were determined by means of HR-ESI-MS and extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic studies. Compounds 1 and 2 were tested for their anti-tobacco mosaic virus (anti-TMV) activity. The results showed that compounds 1 and 2 showed potential anti-TMV activity with inhibition rates within the range 35.2 to 31.6%. These rates are close to that of a positive control. © 2022, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.
