Abstract

The present study was aimed to reveal the metabolites profile of Tectaria paradoxa (Fee.) Sledge chloroform and methanolic extract and Bolbitis appendiculata (Willd.) K. Iwats acetone and methanolic extracts using UHPLC. The separation of Tectaria paradoxa (Fee.) Sledge chloroform and methanolic extract and Bolbitis appendiculata (Willd.) K. Iwats acetone and methanolic extracts chemical constituents were performed with a Q-Exactive Plus Biopharma, Thermo Scientific. Instrument control, Data Acquisition and Data Processing was carried out using Thermo Scientific Xcalibur, Version 4.2.28.14 and Compound Discoverer 2.1 SP1 through Windows XP. A total of 36 compounds of T. paradaxa methanolic extracts are identified as plant metabolites. In T. paradaxa chloroform extracts, 23 compounds showed the biological properties. In B. appendiculata methanolic extracts, 7 compounds showed various biological activities viz., anti-ulcer, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-rheumatic, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-neoplastic agents. In B. appendiculata acetone extracts, 12 compounds demonstrated various biological activities viz., anti-ulcer, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-rheumatic, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-neoplastic agents. The results of the present study confirmed the existence of 19 flavonoids and one polyphenolic compounds, 3 chalcones compounds in the chloroform and methanolic extracts of T. paradaxa. The results of the present study confirmed the existence of 4 phenolic/polyphenolic compounds, 4 terpenes compounds, 2 alkaloids compounds and flavonoids compounds in the acetone and methanolic extracts of B. appendiculata. The identified phenolic/flavonoids compounds of T. paradaxa and B. appendiculata are not only useful in pharmaceutics but also in food industries. © 2021 Elsevier Ltd
