From the leaves and twigs of Psychotria henryi, a new dimeric indole alkaloid, named psychohenin, was isolated, whose structure was elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. The absolute configuration of psychohenin was determined by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study using a mirror Cu Kalpha radiation.
