Four indole alkaloids all possessing the rare methyl chanofruticosinate skeletal system have been isolated from the leaves of Kopsia arborea, viz. methyl 11,12-methylenedioxychanofruticosinate, methyl-N1-decarbomethoxychanofruticosinate, methyl 11,12-methylenedioxy-N1-decarbomethoxychanofruticosinate and methyl 11,12-methylenedioxy-N1-decarbomethoxy-Δ14,15-chanofruticosinate. The last two are new alkaloids. © 1993.
