From the fruits of Evodia rutaecarpa small amounts of hydroxyevodiamine have been isolated in addition to the known alkaloids rutaecarpine and evodiamine. A new especially weakly basic alkaloid called evocarpine was obtained, which is a mixture of compounds distinguished in the position of the double bond in the side chain. The main part was identified as 1-methyl-2-(Δ8′-tridecenyl)-quinolone-4. © 1967.
