A new steroidal alkaloid, cycloxobuxoviricine (1), has been isolated from the leaves of Buxus papilosa and its structure determined by spectroscopic methods. Isolation and 13C-nmr spectrum of another alkaloid, buxaminol B (2), not previously reported from the leaves of this plant is also described. © 1986, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
