Abstract
A new alkaloid, senkirkine, C18H25O6N, has been isolated from the bark and leaves of Senecio Kirkii. Hydrolysis affords senecic acid lactone and an oily necine, probably C8H 13O3N, isolated as an amorphous picrate and aurichloride.
