Abstract

The alkaloids of Kopsia fruticosa are fractionated and three crystalline bases isolated. The formula of the previously known alkaloid kopsine is shown to be C22H34N2O4, and the two new alkaloids, fruticosamine and fruticosine, are isomeric with it. The chemistry of the three alkaloids is studied.
