<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>A new C‐α hydroxy benzylisoquinoline, annocherine C (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>), along with nine teen compounds including six alkaloids, liriodenine (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>), oxoxylopine (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>), oxonantenine (<jats:bold>4</jats:bold>), (‐)‐asimilobine (<jats:bold>5</jats:bold>), (‐)‐xylopine (<jats:bold>6</jats:bold>) and (‐)‐anolobine (<jats:bold>7</jats:bold>); four steroids, β‐sitosterol, stigmasterol, β‐sitosteryl‐D‐glucoside and stigmasteryl‐D‐glucoside and nine benzenoids, methylparabene, vanillin, trans‐methyl <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>‐coumarate, <jats:italic>cis</jats:italic> ‐methyl <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>‐coumarate, <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>‐hydroxybenzadehyde, <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>‐hydroxybenzoic acid, 4‐methoxybenzoic acid methylester, methyl vanillate and <jats:italic>p</jats:italic>‐dihydrocoumaric acid, were isolated from the leaves of <jats:italic>Annona cherimola</jats:italic>. These compounds were identified by spectral analysis.
