Abstract

For Hypecoum erectum and H. lactiflorum: Continuing study of H. erectum in Transbaikalia, alkaloids coptysine, allocryptopine, corydamine hydrochloride, l-N-methylcanidine nitrate were isolated; protopine and l-N-methylcanadine exist as nitrates. H. erectum from Transbaikalia (3.5% total alkaloids) and Mongolia (0.8%) have similar compositions with protopine as main (50%). H. lactiflorum (western Mongolia, 1.2% total alkaloids) has same qualitative composition but main alkaloids (protopine, hypecorine, hypecorinine, allocryptopine) in equal amounts (half of total). Conclusion: Alkaloid amounts and components depend on growth site; similar composition of the two species indicates genetic affinity, consistent with botanical characteristics. For cotton pyrophosphatase: Aim to isolate from cotton shoots and study properties. Isolated from 3-day 108-F variety shoots via homogenization, centrifugation, acetone precipitation, dialysis, ultrafiltration, Sephadex G-100 gel filtration, DEAE-cellulose chromatography. Protein determined by Lowry method, activity by organic phosphate formation (Weil-Malherbe and Gree method).
