Abstract

Sylvamide, a new amide derivative, has been isolated from the petrol extract of the seeds of Piper sylvaticum (Roxb.). From spectral and chemical studies its structure has been elucidated as N-isobutyl-4,5-dihydroxy-2(E)-decenamide.
