Abstract

Candida tropicalis 0H23 capable of forming glutaric acid or adipic acid from n-alkanes, was found to form two acidic compounds from glucose which were different from the above compounds. The compounds were isolated and their structures were examined by elementary analysis, infrared spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy and study of decomposed products. The compounds were proved to be identical with N-acetyl-L-alanine and N-acetylglycine.
