Abstract

Five alkaloids have been isolated from Narcissus tortifolius growing in Almeria (Spain). Three of them, galanthamine, homolycorine and 8-O-demethylhomolycorine, are common in the genus, whereas dubiusine has only been reported from N. dubius. The stereochemistry and structural determination of the new alkaloid 9-O-demethyl-2α-hydroxyhomolycorine have been carried out by spectroscopic analyses, and by application of the 2D NOE, XCOR and COSY techniques. © 1990.
