Abstract

From Papaver radicatum ROTTB. (Synonymum: P. nudicaule L., subsp. radicatum ROTTB., sect. Scapiflora REICHB.), the alkaloids protopine, j3-allocryptopine, cryptopine, amurensinine, 0-methylthalisopavine, am'urine, berberine, sanguinarine and papaverrttbine E were isolated by coltrmn chromatography on A1203 or identified by thin-layer chromatography on silica gel G. Thin-layer c!~romatography also revealed the presence of two other alkaloids which could not be identified as yet.
