A new bisbenzylisoquinoline-N-oxide, (+)-2-norobaberine-2'-β-N-oxide [1], along with six known alkaloids, 2-norobaberine, daphnandrine, coclobine, anisocycline, palmatine, and remrefidine, has been isolated from seeds of Anisocycla cymosa (Menispermaceae). The structure of 1 was determined by spectral data and its reduction into (+)-norobaberine.
