Abstract

p!Coumaroyl!b!phenethylamine "0# and 1?\2?!dihydroxy!3?\5?!dimethoxydihydrochalcone "1# were isolated by preparative HPLC from a methanolic extract of Anomianthus dulcis leaves[ This is the _rst time that these compounds were isolated from a natural source[ In addition\ the known compounds chrysin "2#\ pinocembrin "3#\ 4\6!dimethoxy!7!hydroxy~avanone "4# and 1?\2?!dihydroxy! 3?\5?!dimethoxychalcone "5# were isolated for the _rst time from the genus Anomianthus[ The isolated compounds were identi_ed by 0 H and 02C NMR\ MS\ UV and IR[ Þ 0888 Elsevier Science Ltd[ All rights reserved[
