Forrestine, an alkaloid from Tripterygium forrestii

Abstract

The root-bark of Tripterygium forrestii afforded wilfordine, wilforine and a new sesquiterpene alkaloid, named forrestine. Forrestine was shown to be a benzoyleuonymine by comparison of its H-1 NMR data with those of known compounds.
