STRUCTURE ELUCIDATION OF MACROCYCLIC LACTONE ANTIBIOTICS, MBA 028-24 A AND B

Abstract

The structures of antibiotics MBA 028-24 A and B produced by Streptomyces hyroscopicus A1491 were elucidated from the pysico chemical properties, 2D-NMR techniques and chemical degradation experiments. These antibiotics consist of a 36-membered polyhydroxy lactone ring, a guanidino group and a monoester of malonic acid.
