Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The leaves of a New Caledonian celastraceae, <jats:italic>Pleurostylia opposita</jats:italic> (W<jats:sc>ALL</jats:sc>.) M<jats:sc>ERRILL</jats:sc>‐M<jats:sc>ETCALF</jats:sc>, have yielded three new spermidine alkaloids, 7‐hydroxypleurostyline (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>), 7‐hydroxycelacinnine (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>), and 7′‐hydroxy‐7′,8′‐dihydropleurostyline (<jats:bold>3</jats:bold>), as minor basic constituents, together with three related alkaloids pleurostyline (<jats:bold>4</jats:bold>), celacinnine (<jats:bold>5</jats:bold>), and celallocinine (<jats:bold>6</jats:bold>).
