Ugandan Vepris trichocarpa sampled for this study yielded two undescribed acridone alkaloids here named trichouganda A ( 1 ), a 2-methoxy derivative of evoxanthine ( 2 ), and trichouganda B ( 4 ), a 6-methoxy derivative of 1,3,5-trimethoxy-10-methyl acridone. In addition, the known tecleanthine ( 3 ), tecleanone ( 5 ), and 1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-propanetriol ( 6 ) were identified from the plant.
