Abstract

Two new aporphine alkaloids, amocurines D and E (1 and 2), together with five known compounds (3-7), were isolated from the stems of Amoora cucullata. The structures of these compounds were elucidated based on their spectroscopic data. Compound 1 showed significant activities against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC25923) and Bacillus subtilis (ATCC6633) with MIC value of 3.1 mu g/mL, whereas 2 exhibited selective antibacterial activity against B. subtilis.
