Abstract

Five alkaloids of the eburnan type, viz., (+)-eburnamonine, (+)-eburnamonine N(4)-oxide, (-)-eburnamine, (+)-isoeburnamine and larutenine have been isolated from the leaves of Kopsia larutensis. Larutenine is a new alkaloid, while (+)-eburnamonine N(4)-oxide is isolated as a natural product for the first time. The structures of these alkaloids were assigned by spectral methods. © 1992.
