Abstract

A rapid and efficient method for stereoselective synthesis of new substituted tetra hydro-alpha-carbolines using Diets-Alder reaction under microwave irradiation has been developed. Further, dehydrogenation of these adducts resulted in synthesis of new substituted alpha-carbolines. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
