From leaves of Phoebe valeriana were isolated three new pentasubstituted aporphine alkaloids [1, 2,3-trimethoxy-9,10-methylenedioxyaporphine or phoebine (1), 1,2-droxynoraporphine or nordelporphine (5)], a new phenanthrene alkaloid (7), a new dehydroaporphine alkaloid (8), and a new oxoaporphine (9). In addition, four known aporphine alroaporphine alkaloid (8), and a new oxoaporphine (9). In addition, four known aporphine alkaloids [nantenine, thaliporphine, 3-hydroxyglaucine or N-methylthalbaicaline, and norphoebine (2)] and the known oxoaporphine O-methylmoschatoline were found. The structures were elucidated principally by spectroscopic methods and chemical transformations. © 1986, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
