Abstract

A novel (22S,25R)-13,17-didehydro-5a-cevanine alkaloid, ebeienine (1), was isolated from the bulbs of Fritillaria ebeiensis var. purpurea, together with (255)-20-deoxy-5α-cevanin-3β,6β-diol (ebeiedine (2)), and (25S)-20-deoxy-5α-cevanin-3α-ol-6-one (ebeiedinone (3)). Their structures were elucidated by physical methods and finally confirmed by X-ray crystal structure determination. © 1988, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan. All rights reserved.
