Alkaloid extracts of leaves and seeds of the South Am erican taxon Lupinus albescens Hooker & Arnott were analyzed by capillary gas-chrom atography (G L C ) and G LC -mass spectrom etry. Multiflorine and albine figured as major, and amm odendrine, lupanine, 11,12-seco-12,13-didehydrom ultiflorine 13a-hydroxymultiflorine and 13-tigloyloxymultiflorine as minor alkaloids. Three new alkaloids were tentatively identified as adehydrom ultiflorine, N-form ylalbine and 13-m ethoxym ultiflorine. © 1993, Walter de Gruyter. All rights reserved.
