Abstract

A new glyceride, 1,3-di-(16-acetoxy-palmitoyl)-glycerol (1), and a known ceramide, (2S,3S,4R,8E)-2-[(2R) hydroxypalmitoylamino]-8-tetracosene-1,3,4-triol (2), were isolated from the seeds of Xylocarpus granatum K.D.Koenig (Meliaceae). Their structures were established on the basis of spectral evidence.
