Four new bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids were obtained from Pycnarrhena ozantha. These are (+)-2-northalrugosine [3], (+)-bisnorobamegine [4], (+)-bisnorthal-rugosine [5], and (+)-pycnazanthine [7]. They were accompanied by the known dimers (+)-2-norobamegine {1}, which is the main alkaloid, (+)-2-norberbamine [2], and (+)-daphnoline {6}. © 1987, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
