A new alkaloid, sessilifoliamide I, was isolated from the roots of Stemona sessilifolia (Miq.) Miq. Its structure was established by interpretation of spectral data and X-ray crystallography. © 2007 The Japan Institute of Heterocyclic Chemistry.
