From the bark and leaves of Kopsia lapidilecta seven indole alkaloids were isolated. Three are known: venalstonine [1], lapidilectine A [2], and lapidilectine B [3]. The other four are new and possess the same skeleton as lapidilectine A [2]; the new alkaloids are isolapidilectine [4], lapidilectam [5], lapidilectinol [6], and epilapidilectinol [7]. The configuration of C-2 and C-20 of lapidilectine A [2] is revised. All the structures were elucidated chiefly by 2D nmr analysis. © 1993, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
